Environment:
Greenfield platform build.
Products:
- PVS 1811
- App Layering 1812
- Windows Server 2016
Issue:
Randomly got bit by this twice in one week with a customer, and haven’t seen much online about it. Upon installing PVS and installing the App Layering agent, it fails toward the end with this lovely message:
Snippets of the log contain the following:
InstallShield 17:57:28: Invoking script function AddCertificate 1: Executable: C:Program Files (x86)CitrixAgentCitrix.AppLayering.Agent.Service.exe, args: addcert -port=8016 -errorFile="AddCert.Error" 1: Return Code: 1 1: errorFile: AddCert.Error, resultCode: 1, hErrorFile: 2778, errorMessage: System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException: Bad Data CustomAction AddCertificate returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox) Action ended 17:58:54: AddCertificate. Return value 3.
Resolution:
Uninstall the App Layering Agent
Reboot (super important)
Re-install
