Chief Strategy Advisor
Mike will grudgingly admit to being an experienced technology leader but still brings passion, energy, and curiosity to bear every day. Although the bulk of his 30+ year technology career has been spent in Financial Services, he has sojourned in Telecom, Natural Resources, and the long-expired Computer Service Bureau industry. Lucky enough to have held just about every Leadership role in Technology Infrastructure and Operations, he still believes that Infrastructure matters in the age of cloud computing, and spends his days championing the need to manage, evolve, and improve enterprise technology infrastructures to deliver both effective business applications and great, innovative end-user experiences.
Along the way, he is proud to have been part of some of the earliest deployments of each wave of end-user computing tool (Email, Remote Access, Instant Messaging, Intranet, Mobile, and Social Business )and happy to share war stories and scars.
He is well known for his focus and expertise on the "New World of Work, and delivering great end-user experiences while balancing Security Imperatives and effective enterprise technology management, which have led him to focus on O365, virtual workplaces, and zero trust delivery models.
Outside work, beyond family, blues guitar, and wine (Tuscan and Canadian being particular favourites, he fancies himself an amateur futurist, and yes, does wonder why we are not getting around in our flying cars, while also worrying about AI and Skynet on a frequent basis.
