Scaling VDI to tens of thousands of users? Join us to learn about Citrix pod architecture: from principles to evolution in the cloud era.

Citrix has long been the leader in designing and building the foundational infrastructure of the world’s largest VDI and published app environments. As organizations grow their businesses, either from organic expansion or M&A activities, they become increasingly mindful of failure domains, predictable scalability costs, and infrastructure requirements to support their growth.

Organizations want a repeatable approach to expand their Citrix footprint. Enter pod architecture, a longtime strategy for modularly building Citrix infrastructures that can scale, while remaining sufficiently isolated to not impact other pods of apps or desktops in the event of failure.

The fundamentals of pod architecture remain relatively consistent whether or not a customer uses Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Service from Citrix Cloud, on-premise versions of Citrix, or deploys in public cloud or within traditional datacentres; however, the recommended density and configuration thresholds will vary. Therefore, factors such as failure tolerances, budgetary considerations, technical considerations within a pod architecture, and business objectives will vary from customer to customer.

Join the legendary Nick Rintalan from Citrix Systems along with Citrix veterans Michael Shuster and Zeljko Macanovic from Ferroque Systems as we discuss the principles, considerations, and reference architectures for pod architectures that scale and minimize risk. Our panelists have designed many of the largest Citrix platforms in the world, and look forward to sharing their insights on recommended practices, technical and business considerations, and gotchas for Citrix pod design accommodating 10,000 to 100,000 users and beyond.
