In my culture, we have a saying: “不忘初心” — never forget your original heart. It’s a reminder to stay true to your purpose, to the spark that first set you on your path.
For me, that spark was back in 1997, when I stumbled across Citrix WinFrame. It lit a passion that’s carried me through my entire career — and ultimately became the foundation of Ferroque Systems. Passion, purpose, and accountability aren’t just words for us; they are the DNA of our culture, the reason we show up every day, and the values we’ve built this company on.
Last week, those values came to life at our 5th All-Hands meeting, the biggest one yet. Over the past year, we’ve grown in leaps and bounds, not only as a business but as a team. We now span across Canada, the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Taiwan. Getting everyone together once a year is never easy, and with the Air Canada flight attendants’ strike, this year’s logistics were even more challenging. But somehow, against all odds, everyone made it.
We came together in Old Montreal, a place full of history, beauty, and energy. Our partners from Citrix, Numecent, CATO, and Microsoft joined us, sharing their latest innovations and insights. And then came a highlight I’ll never forget: a picnic designed by celebrity chef Antonio Park. Beyond the incredible food, Chef Antonio shared his own story, building a global restaurant empire, then returning to his very first kitchen out of pure love for cooking. His words hit home: leadership is about passion, purpose, and attention to detail. The very same values we live by at Ferroque.
The weekend wasn’t all business, though. On Saturday, our team hit the streets of Montreal, proudly wearing our 5th edition Ferroque tees. We wandered from bagel shops to smoked meat counters, tucked into cozy Plateau cafés, and shared countless laughs along the way. It was more than team building; it was a reminder of who we are when we come together.
And in those moments, walking the streets, swapping stories, breaking bread, I felt it again. That same spark from 1997. The reason we started. The heart of it all.
